The Maxi Dress or also popularly called the Frock has become a women’s wardrobe essential. In the 1960′s high end fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta set out to design something that would be gracing the ankles of fashionable people all over the world. He succeeded in his quest, by 1968 he had the New York Times praising his design and millions wearing it. Designers such as YSL and Dior led by example, making the maxi dress some what of an epidemic in fashion during the 70′s.
Maxi-length skirts begun to outdo the mini skirt and dress in 1967. Maxi styles quickly grabbed hold in London. Initially, Maxi-dresses appeared lacey and slightly shorter than ankle length.
Personally. I prefer my Maxis extremely long and this one is my personal favourite from my current collection at KASH Boutique. A very long maxi dress gives you the advantage of styling it with a pair of high heels. However today I styled this maxi dress with a pair of flat sandals and completed the look with this hand-made woven bag that I bought from Valencia city centre in Spain.
